While the capital island of Nisi was founded in 564RH Telma wouldn't receive its official borders until 997RH. The Telma border to the north represents where the Leven Forest ends and to the west represents where the swamp land ends. Due to the swampy wetlands proper farming is incredibly hard and most people are simple fishermen. Those who choose to move on to something more are generally left with two choices, crime or military service. As such Telma is a hot bed of crime and corruption but also has the most powerful navy in the world.
Swampy wetlands cover most of the land of Telma. The only solid land is on the capital island of Nisi.
Run by an elected President who mostly acts as a inbetween for the government of The Merchant Republic and the admirals of the Telma Navy.
Telma has a number of port cities and a large number are no stranger to smuggling operations. These port cities also house, build and repair navy ships. Outside of port cities small settlements that subsist on swamp scavenging pepper the mainland.
Telma is mostly human but beast tribes will pass through during the early spring when parts of the swamp land are frozen over.
Many citizens of Telma worship a god they call Nepo. Nepo is often associated with the ocean and swamp lands. Typically depicted as sailing the seas in his divine ship known as The Ark. Telmians believe that when you die your soul is sent to the bottom of the ocean. Those who have led good lives will float to the top where Nepo will escort your soul to the after life on The Ark. Those who have led sinful lives will stay trapped at the bottom of the ocean.
